It all began when our landlord decided to sell the property we were renting, and now had 60 days to find a new place to call home. With the rental market being so hot, it became clear that we were going to have trouble finding a rental. After 30 days of no success, we instead looked at the option of buying a home. Although we both have good paying jobs, because we had zero credit to our names, we were unable to get qualified for a conventional mortgage. By this point, things were looking scary, the end of our lease was coming fast and we had no place to go. One morning I was browsing on Facebook and came across a post of a house with an "Owner Financing" option. Seeing the possibility I reached out. James gave us the chance we needed to take the big leap into homeownership, and now after using what we learned from him, we were able to refinance just a year later with a conventional mortgage and an incredible interest rate.
